I will check for the codes this weekened. As far as the fuel filter goes, that was changed 3wks ago.

I've been told that there could be a hole in the return line. Is there a way to check for that...or would the pressure test do that for me?

A hole in the return line would make a puddle of gasoline under the car. You would have noticed that??? And it would let the engine run just fine until it ran out of gas.

A hole in the suction nozzle of the pump, inside the gas tank sounds more like it. With a full tank, it would suck gasoline in thru the hole, & work OK. When the gas level dropped below the hole, it would suck air.

Ok, and to fix that would I have to drop the tank? Or can it even be fixed without buying another tank?

If it's a problem with the tank's pickup line then you would have to drop the tank to remove the fuel pump. It's held up into place by essentially 4 bolts. There is a drain plug underneath, however, I'd defenitly do some more testing before I went that far....

Yeah, definitely test (& rule out) all the easy stuff before dropping the tank.
