Default Distributor o ring

2001, accord, 4cyl -- is there an O ring or gasket that goes between the distributor and the engine or is the O ring everyone speaks of the one on the shaft that goes inside the engine??

It is not on the shaft that spins inside the engine. It is on the distributor housing where the housing sits inside the hole for the cylinder head.

Look up distributors on Ebay for your car. They usually have pics for their parts and you can't miss the o-ring.

Thanks, you explained it the way I wanted to ask it. Will replacing that O-ring stop the oil leakage there?

It will fix a leak between the distributor and the cylinder head. It is a common problem.

If you remove the distributor cap and there is oil inside of the distributor, then there is another problem that the o-ring will not correct.
