distributor wiring
i am putting a h22a4 into my accord. i am using the accord wiring harness. can anyone tell me how to wire up the stock prelude external coil or the jdm h22 internal coil distributor
I dont even know what to do at this point, i have posted up on 4 different forums and no one has given me a solid answer.
The problem is the prelude distributor has 8 wires coming out of it the wire harness has 5 going to the distributor.
any one with a h22 swap want to tell me their distirbutor set up.
the onlything i can think of at this point is to use the h22 wiring harness, but then you get to sort through hundreds of wires on both the car and engine and solder them together because the harness wont plug into the car.

Distributor Wiring I've had quite a few requests for distributor wiring so I've taken the time to add this update. The only wiring I have is for the H22a equipped with an internal ignition coil. Sensor OBDI wiring (prelude dist) OBDII wiring (accord dist) TDC Orange/Blue Green White/Blue Red CKP Blue/Green Blue Blue/Yellow White CYP Orange Yellow White Black This is exactly how I wiring the distributor and it worked flawlessly. You may want to twist the wires and wrap them in tin foil to reproduce the shielded wiring that makes up the wires to the distributor.

i'm in the process of completely taking apart both distributors to see what wires go where so that should answer my question
The timing sensors in the distributor have changed a couple times over the years. What year H22 in your '97 Accord?
I won't really know the answer, but you can check wiring drawings for that-year Prelude against the distributor wiring drawing for '97 Accord.

Like I said I don't really know H22s all that well. But I think beginning in '98the F23 Accord engines had the TDC sensor moved out of the distributor & down to the crankshaft pulley. Maybe Honda made the same change across the board??
WhateverECU you use,it'll want to see both the distributor sensors and the crankshaft sensors (CKF & TDC) that it's expecting.
