DLC connector
I am not sure this is the right category to ask my question. I have a 2007 Honda Accord. In 2012 I brought it to get it inspected and in the middle of the inspection was told that the DLC connector was pushed up and that someone else must have been driving my car. No one except me drove my car. They told me it would cost $30 to push down the connector. I was told by another auto mechanic that all they did was take off two screws and shouln't have charge me anything. My son (I gave this car to my son) needed an inspection sticker for this car and I didn't have the chance to tell him not to go to this business -I bought a used car there and had to file a complaint with the Attorney General. My son told me he went there and was told they couldn't give him a sticker because it was difficult to get to the DLC connector and told him he needed it fixed. My review on this same problem was in 2012. I have had this car inspected for five years at other service stations and no one has ever had this issue-interesting! What are your thoughts? I am assuming there will be no problem when I take it somewhere else.
The DLC usually just clips into the dash bracket. The plastic tabs may or may not have been broken that holds it into the bracket.
1. Remove the driver's lower dashboard cover. (See Step # 3 and # 4 (if equipped) for instructions. https://www.handa-accessories.com/ac...d-security.pdf
2. Locate the DLC and pull it back down to the dash bracket. If the plastic tabs are broken, then just wrap tape around the DLC and bracket.

If this auto station saw my name I am concerned they may have broken the piece. In Massachusetts I am told there are now pictures taken while s car is being inspected. As I noted, there has been no problems with this other than this station having this issue in 2012 and now.
