Never flushed an engine in my life. When I went to mechanical school my engines teacher said never, ever, use engine flush, especially on a high mileage motor, it's worse than just leaving the sludge in there. If you change it regularly there is never a need for that crap. I change mine every 2000, but I am a maticulous Bas****!!!

I've used it, but not on my own cars. ;-)
I keep up oil changes & regular maintenance so I don't need it.
I wouldn't use it "just because" as a general maintenance thing.

I've used it for friends cars where the oil is really REALLY dirty. After scolding them for letting it get that bad...
Warm up the car, pour it into the oil. Idle for 10 minutes or whatever, per the instructions. While it's idling, DON'T LEAVE IT ALONE. Just in case... but I haven't had any disasters.

Drain it & change oil. Then I tell them to change oil again really soon, just to clean it out.
