Default Does mileage change on 2000 Accord?

Hey,

My low fuel light doesn't work and the speedometer doesn't seem to be accurate (Ex. when I'm on the highway going with the flow, my speedometer reads over 80 and other cars are still passing me).

My question is, I removed the cluster once and noticed that the odemeter doesn't come out with the gauge cluster, so if I replace the guage cluster, will the correct odometer (mileage) remain the same or would it display the mileage of the new cluster? I see some on ebay but they mention the mileage, I don't want to replace a guage cluster and have it show higher mileage than is on the car. Please advise.

thanks

I would replace the bulb for the low fuel light.

Next drive at exactly 60 mph on a higway with mile markers. It should take 60 seconds to go 1 mile at 60 miles per hour. You could also use another car to pace you or some gps units that log your speed. Do you have the correct size tires on the car? That can have an effect on speedo accuracy.

If you change the cluster the odometer will read what you new cluster had accumulated not the correct mileage for your car.

I have drove 105 mph on the highway on the way to work before. It was dumb and reckless, but I didn't make anybody's speedo read slow.

Use a GPS unit to check your speed.. About all of them show you MPH
