Default door handle problem

Hello everyone. I'll cut to the chase. My passenger side door handle has been broken (wife pulled too hard trying to open door) along with the external assembly/facade. I don't have a problem replacing the external assembly but I know I'll have to access the internal portion/door panel to repair the actual mechanics. It seems as if a spring/wiring for the door handle may have been broken because you can play with the handle and have no resistance to it at all. I have already done a little research on this but was wondering how hard this will be. Thanks for help in advance.

Default RE: door handle problem

the door panel removal is actually fairly easy and if the door still opens from the inside then chances are all that has happend is the external assembly where it connects to the rod that actuates the door lock assembly is broken so just replacing the exterior handle may very well fix it after you attach the rod that goes down inside the door
