Default EGR Valve Removal

I got the notorious P0401 code and am trying to fix the problem. I cleaned up the EGR ports and the plates but I couldn't get the EGR Valve off to replace the gasket. I got the nut closer to the Valve Cover off but the nut next to the Throttle Body I am having an issue with.

A Wrench didn't do any good, I tried getting it with a socket attached to an extension but to no avail and a socket attached to a flexible adapter attached to a ratchet didn't fit.

Unfortunately the nut got a bit stripped on the top. Is there any other tool, socket or adapter that will help me remove this stubborn nut?

I've used a "crows foot" on my 95 before. I think there a swivel sockets that might work as well.

I bought a crowfoot set and hopefully that'll do it.
On the bright side though, I cleared the code and it hasn't come back, the car also idles much better.
Where would one buy Swivel Sockets? I went to Autozone and I don't think I saw those.

Damn, the nut is stripped and the crowfoot didn't work.
One of my auto tech buddies offered me some help since he has far more tools than I do.
I'm definitely going to pass by the Hardware store later to buy a nut though.

I'm sure there are several places that do sell them I got a 3/8 set from Sears (carftsman)-10 thru 19 but no 14 , so I got that size 3/8 made by Blackhawk, I also have 1/4 drive 8, 10, 12 made by Blackhawk....at the time carquest sold Blackhawk tools, I think they have another line now.

Found this from powerbuilt??

Good luck, let us know how it works out.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about pulling the EGR valve itself.
The majority of the blockage is the ports under the runner plate you have already cleared.

@poorman212: I'll look into those. Those may or will come in handy eventually.

@hondadude: Oh alright, I just wanted to replace it since I doubt it has been replaced in a very very long time but I guess it can be done another day. I'll focus more on replacing the rotors and brakes since I am going out of town this weekend and don't want to die.
