Default Electrical Problems?

Ok today as soon as I get to work I notice that ALL of the taillights were ON, I didn't have the time to try and figure this out so I disconnected the battery so it wouldn't drain it.

1. Has anyone had this problem?

2. Is there a fast solution for this?

3. What does any of you think it is?

Next time it happens, try lifting up on the brake pedal.

Bad brake-pedal switch turning ON the brake lamps.

Missing little rubber plug on the brake pedal - that plug is supposed to press the pin of the brake switch when the pedal is UP.

Look up near the hinge of the brake pedal. Should be a switch with a button sticking out. When you press down the brake pedal, it should allow that button to spring out, turning on the brake lamps.

When you let the brake pedal UP, it should push in that button which turns OFF the brake lights.

Just look to see if that's working correctly. It's not uncommon for the switch to be broken. Also the little rubber bumper that presses the switch can dissappear. It's pretty cheap at the dealer.

TAIL or BRAKE lites??? 2 different issues 2 different fixes ,, since you did not mention anything about the frt parking lites staying also on , i would have to assume that it is the brake lites as well

if it is brake lites follow Jim's suggestions

if it is tail lites there is another issue..

No offense,, but what are you smoking ??? IT IS NOT a normal problem at all and it is not the car battery causing the lites to stay on ,,,,,,,,

Good call, Well today I got off work early and had time take a look at it, sure enough it was the brake pedal switch torn into little pices on the floormat so I just put 2 layers of doble side tape and problem fixed I ofcourse did not removed paper covering on side of the switch so it wouldn't stick to the switch. Something so simple had me thinking for about 2 or 3 days. Thanks alot Jim.

Go to the dealer, as soon as you can, and get the proper plug (~ $3). You can lookup the part number online (google for majestic honda). The tape will hold for a while but not forever. The OE plugs last @ 20 years or so....
