Default Engine control management system

Is there some kind of indication on the instrument panel when the engine management system shuts off three cylinders?

Thanks.

There is no direct indicator on the instrument panel of whether Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) is active between switching from 6, 4, or 3 cylinder combustion.

The ECON mode indicator on the instrument panel comes on when the ECON button is pressed. The ‘ECON’ button optimizes operation of the transmission, engine, and other powertrain components to help conserve additional fuel. For example, a gentler throttle pedal setting limits power and torque by a small amount. Also, air conditioning is set to consume less energy by operating more in the recirculation mode or reducing the speed of the automatic climate control blower.

VCM could be active and the ECON mode indicator light doesn't have to be lite, and vice versa.

Thank you for the information. I wish there was a way of turning off VCM.
