Default Engine cuts out 97 accord

Helloe guys. Recently i have been have some enigne issues. One being it shakes a lot and im betting its motor mounts. The other being and idles rough sometimes and while accelerating, it cuts out. When it idles rough it goes from 1000rpms to 2000rpms and bounces back and forth. I've never seen a car bounce back and forth between rpms so much. And when im driving some times the engine just stops accelerating and it drops down to 1500 rpms as if im idling at a red light. Then all of a sudden it kicks in like im flooring it. Its kind of scary too bc the steering is sketchy but we are getting that looked at soon for free by a mechanic friend.
But my biggest issue is the weird engine cutting out thing. Hope thats enough detail.

Look in DIY for a post by me about setting the BASE idle.

But that won't deal with the cutting out, nor the steering (alignment?).

Shaking might be engine mounts like you say, but check that by grabbing the valvecover & shaking it (cold engine). It's possible that a low idle RPM can do the shaking also.

Is it automatic trans? The automatic has a vacuum-operated engine mount in the rear, and that can fail. Need more detail about when/how the vibration is happenning.
