Default Engine mount control system question

I have completed about 98% of my auto to manual swap in my 97 Accord. One thing I haven't seen any information on is the Engine mount control system in the rear mount. Is it ran from the ECU or the TCU? Can I just plug the vacuum line or do I need to do more? The mount is shot. Maybe I need to replace with the same type? Any help would be appreciated.

For the 1997, only Accords with the automatic came with the engine mount control system.
  • 97 4 cylinder automatic had a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) instead of an ECM.
  • 97 4 cylinder manual had an Engine Control Module (ECM) instead of a PCM.
  • 97 V6 had an ECM and a separate Transmission Control Module (TCM).
For the 4 cylinder automatic, the electronic control engine mount solenoid valve was controlled via the PCM.

For the 6 cylinder automatic, the electronic control engine mount solenoid valve was controlled via the TCM.

I would think that you can probably just plug the vacuum line.

It might be that even in the non-vacuum state, the auto-engine mount might be softer than the manual-trans mount. So find a mount from a manual-trans in your favorite junkyard?

Thank for all your help. I welded the mount together as a "get by for now". Now, I am using the computer that was originally in the car, 1997 HA F22B2 with auto trans. The computer I got with the 1996 HA had different sized plugs all across the computer so nothing would plug up. Oh, the tcu is built into the computer. So, do I need to just unplug the tcu plug or find a computer that is correct? Is the computer from a 5 speed 97 what I need? Just had back surgery so this may not make any sense. Thank for the help

Can you tell me the part number on the sticker for your PCM and the 96 PCM you got?

They should be something like 37820-p0a-a51.

Watch that welded-up engine mount. Without the flexibility of the mount, that weld might fatigue and have a short lifespan.
