If it was the battery the motor would be sluggish trying to turn over. It would likely not turn over more than a few times before giving up. Also the lights would dim and the radio probably would not work.

 

If you don't hear the fuel pump come on for 3 secs when keyswitch is turned to ON, the problem is either main fuel relay (MFR) or fuel pump. Only way to know is to check whether voltage is getting to the fuel pump when no-start condition is present. If you have voltage and no pump action, the pump is intermittent. This recently happened to me on my 94EX.

MFR is much likely, but may be difficult to access. It is on my 94EX. Hopefully, another MFR will work.
