Erratic Idle - IACV?
#11
I had this problem with my '97 Accord, tach bouncing up and down like a yo-yo, and before I pulled the IACV to clean it up, I decided to clean the electrical connectors first with some CRC QD Electronic Cleaner. (Pulling the IACV isn't difficult, but I always follow the path of least resistance first.)
I sprayed both the male and female ends of the connectors on the IACV until dripping, let them dry, reset the ECU and started the engine. Let it idle (under NO load) until it reached operating temp, and....
It's been idling perfect ever since. It purrs like a kitten at about 730 RPM. That was several months ago and the idle is no longer an issue.
I guess I got lucky.

Look in post #10 at the picture I posted. Idle screw is #1.
Reset ECU by disconnecting battery, but then you'll need the security code for your stereo. There's probably a fuse you can pull to do the same thing but I don't know which - "radio-backup" or something like that?
