I'm looking to purchase a 96 accord with a f22b2 and a manual transmission...has 236k on it...guy wants $859....how much longer can I expect the engine to last? Sm I walking into a money pit. If we are talking a couple Grand in the next couple of years to keep this thing running great no worries....just want to know if it's worth it.....

It is a hard call on a ~20 year old car.....history is unknown.

I ran a 95 EX to ~385K with no major issues (alt went, brakes, tune up, other regular maint) but I knew the history of it an knew it was taken care of - father-in-law sold it to us with ~260K, he bought it new. And the car only left us because of a "young driver error" - it went off road and did a barrel roll....still miss that car.
