Default Faint tapping after oil change

The oil that came out was black and thick.. It seems to run fine but I hear a faint tapping, changes with rpm .. I know that people put heavier oil in to quiet engines down some times.... I would imagine the new oil is just thinner?? I used maxlife 5/30

Thanks

Does it seem to go away after a few minutes? A valve adjustment may be in your future..........

I don't think so.. no, not really, and I can't hear it once we're out on the highway with it. If a valve adjustment is anywhere near as difficult as the rotors were, it's going into the ocean

I am nowhere near an ocean. But I will drive it to one. And give it a first class send off.

Just kidding

Noises can be tricky, especially over the web. Is the noise coming from under the valve cover?

Got an audio clip, that might help.......and no, compared to the rotors a valve adjustment is a walk in the park as long as you take your time.

Ah .. good to know .. I don't think any of the audio equipment I have got would be sensitive enough to pick it up but I will try!! I finally let my woman get one of those stupid "smart droid phone" things and maybe that will do better than my telephone.
