Question Fan Stays on, Battery Dies

Hello all,
This morning when I got to my car, it was completely dead, with zero signs of life. I hooked up some cables to jump start the car and in the process, I noticed that my car key was in my hand yet the interior blowers/fans were ON.

Then I got to work, turned off the engine and took out the key; again, the fans stayed on.

I tried taking out the Cooling fan relay fuse (#39) but he fans stayed on. I put that one back in its spot and then took out the Condenser fan motor/Cooling fan system fuse (#29) which turned the fans off. Both fuses looked fine. This seems like a quick fix to prevent my battery dying. Check the fuse layout for my referenced fuse #s.

Side note, I have a remote starter in my car which did not work this morning since the car was dead. That was the first red flag.

Does anyone know what the problem may be? Possibly a relay?

Thanks in advance.

If the blower inside the car was on, I'd look at testing the blower relay - if stuck closed then this could happen.

Or are you talking about the cooling fan(s) on the radiator?

Thanks. I took a look at that relay and sort of cleaned it then reconnected it. Seems to have fixed the problem.

Well, keep an "ear" out for it when you shut the car off....then enjoy the ride
