My battery light started staying onfor 3 or 4 minutes after I start the car in the morning.It goes offand stays off after the four or so minutes and it does not come on each start-up after that. Only does it on the first start up of each day.Any ideas on what it could be? Alternator going bad? The car is a 90 Accord EX with a 5 speed manual.

The first thing I would look at is the belt slipping? Then I would check what the voltage the alternator is putting out.
