FINALLY going to change MT Fluid.. Which fluid to use???
Hi JimBlake
Thank you for your reply. Yes it is a US car, California I think. I bought it here in Nigeria then changed the engine and gear box. The engine it came with was stamped
F23 A4
500 3805
This engine is stamped
F23 A
222 1379
I need O2 sensors and when I checked online, they kept saying the product works for this engine not the other etc (referring to A number). That’s why I needed the particular series
Thanks.

Typically engines made for US have the last digit like F23A1 or B18C1
Some countries including Japan don't have the last digit. (This goes for engines intended to sell in that country, regardless where the engine is manufactured)
What I know about it is from 1998-1999 Accords, but the F23A4 is the ULEV engine, and it takes a different front O2 sensor and the PCM is different as well as the engine wiring harness. Unless you changed the PCM along with the engine, you should probably use the sensor for the ULEV engine.
The part number of the PCM might help, but I don't have the manual any more so I hope someone chimes in who might know.
Also, maybe you can read a part number from the old oxygen sensor?

Thank you very much everyone. I am really grateful for all the ideas and suggestions. It was truly helpful for such a confused guy.
I didn’t get the Honda MTF or the AC Delco so finally settled for the Total Transmission oil 85w90 GL4. It’s over 6 months now and so far no problems. I pray it continues so.
Another request please; how can I find from my engine number if my engine is F23 A1, A4 or A5? On the block it’s written:
F23A
222 1379
Once again, thank you all for all your help. I will update this post later in time, especially if there is any change in my Gear box

Hi everyone again
Back here to update you all on my gearbox as promised.
It’s now over 22months I replaced the transmission oil in my 2002 Accord with Total Transmission oil 85w90 GL4 since I wasn’t able to get the Honda MTF
The gearbox is doing fine, no problems so far. Made a moderate trip of over 800km, I mean highway driving. no problems. The car has been in use everyday
Hope this helps anyone who may be in the same dilemma I was in 2yrs ago
Thank you all for all ur suggestions and support then
Have fun!!!

Update on the Transmission fluid change
It’s now four & half years I put the Total Transmission oil 85w90 GL4 in my Honda 2002 Manual gearbox since I was unable to get the Honda MTF.
My car is doing fine, no problems at all, used daily, often making it scream on empty roads
For those of you who may face problems getting the Honda MTF.
Thank you all again
