Default Flex Pipe Issues

I know this probably belongs with the exhaust section, but I wasn't completely sure. Anyways, I have a 1992 Accord and the flex pipe constantly gives me problems. I replaced it about 20K miles ago and found out how expensive it was. I'm pretty sure there's a hole or something in it again as one side is rusted out. What I'm wondering is can I use the muffler/exhaust tape on it without having any negative effects? I really don't have the money right now to replace that flex pipe again and I need something to make the car shut up..because it's loud [>:]Any suggestions? Thanks.

Default RE: Flex Pipe Issues

Yes...If you can afford it...get ride of the flex-pipe and put in a real pipe...
