Default fram sure drain???

I've always had my oil changes done at the dealer, but now i'm thinking of starting to do it myself. Anybody try this?

seems like it would make the job super easy.

I'm not sure how long that thing would last and how long it would work if the valve is exposed to the elements because the plastic cap gets lost or damaged

It's a double edge sword. Yeah, you don't need a wrench to do your oil changes anymore (big deal, in my opinion anyways), but that thing drains VERY slow. I have one on my accord and it takes a good 15 - 25 minutes to drain. No joke. So if your whole purpose was to save time doing an oil change, by omitting any wrenching, it actually works against you.

The quality of it is actually decent. It has a brass cap that goes on the valve to protect the valve from road grime and as long as you store that orange tube some place safe, it won't give you any problems.

I'm going to actaully go back to my good old honda drain plug. It's a great idea, but it takes too dang long to drain! Maybe they've improved that valve since I bought it 3 years ago...
