Froozen drivers door shut
sup guys. 98 accord 4 door. and the driver side door is frooze shut and wont open. YES I HAVE GOOGLED. door panel was easy to get off, and i can clearly see the mechanism etc, but i am still confused on how to release the latch so the door can open....
you have the lock/unlock which seems to be functioning correctly, and the only rod i see is from the door handle to the latch which is still connected but has no tension anymore to pop the latch.
i know with like the 90-93 accords there was no 2ndary rod u could push and open.. and i dont seem to have that 2nd rod that some videos/pictures show.. so is there any way i can open?? i can take picts if need be also. just trying to avoid having to drill due to a broken spring in the latch and no 2ndary way to open...

welp went 2 junk yard, found a 98 accord same style and got the door latch out of it. got home and started comparing, and have come to the conclusion that it needs to be drilled.
*the lock goes up/down and i see all parts working, yet inside/outside handle when pulled are always in the lock position. using a hook and pulling/pushing a few of the parts attached to the lock rods do nothing beneficial. the key still lock/unlocks also.
just not seeing any way to get the lock to release so i can open.
if anybody has info on how to drill and where/angles i would appreciate it. plan to research a little bit but for those who have been there/done that thanks for tips

internal cams which lock latch
Check my photo album from 11-23-2012 showing the disassembled front right door latch of my 99 Accord LX. The lower of the two internal cams must be pushed or pulled downward to release the upper cam which holds the door striker. Flip the image to see what the front left looks like. If you drill out the 3 bolts be sure to drill the 2 posts which sandwich the front and back of the latch first.
