Default fuel issue?

did tune up thinkin it would solve my problem but it didnt, here is the issue..

car will start and run for 20-30 seconds then RPM drops to 0 and the engine runs "thud thud thud thud thud thud thud" sounds like its runnin on one cylinder is best way to describe... does this sound like a fuel filter/pump issue? any help is appreciated!

Lightbulb Could Be A TPS Angle Sensor*

Hi Member.

When these are not working properly the ECU thinks the throttle is moving and gives out little burst of fuel.
By monitoring the out put with a voltmeter onto the TPS your ECU will then be able to to tell you if the correct angle is working..check it for a broken , chipped housing..take it off if you don't have a meter and take it to an AutoZone..they can check it to see if it's getting it's 5.0 volts it should be getting..

Does it start right back up?
If so does it go thru the same cycle?
If you give it gas, can you keep it running?
Any stored codes?

it starts right back up, but it doesnt run on a re-start, just the thud thud thud, giving gas has no response, today it ran for almost 2 minutes then it dropped off, i restarted it and about 10 seconds of thudding about to turn it off it kicked in normal for like 10 more seconds then thud thud thud thud, whole engine shakes.....

ok so now 2 people have told me a clogged catalytic converter would cause this so is it worth cutting the exhaust right before the cat to see if the car runs? i have no other choice my car is not driveable as it sits.....i'll let you guys know what happens....

Could be the cat but if it was clogged it would more than likely idle fine but nerver alow you to accel....or if totally clogged do this all the time, not wait 20-30 seconds......plus why cut stuff off when three bolts at the bottom of the manifold would do?

Codes? Please answer this....

Last tune up consisted of?

Runs fine for 2~3 minutes then the issue happens, no amount of gas will help?

got the car started to find out there was a severe knocking in cylinder 1 so this along with my other issue i ended up buying a used motor, will be getting swapped in on monday hopefully done by tuesday, latest wednsday...

it may sound extreme but had it looked at by 3 mechanics all who could not find the problem and all said best bet was to put another motor in because it was most likely bad and then the knocking situation confirmed it...
