Question Gears

Hello All,

I just found out that my 2nd gear is all chewed up on the countershaft and mainshaft. I was wondering where can I purchase gears for a H2U5 honda tranny. I can get one from the junkyard but really do not want to go there and mess with a tranny. I have to pull the part. Any suggestions.

Hello All,

I got a donor tranny from the junk yard. The mounting bolts were broken so I swapped the top case. Now that I have everything back together the gears will not move into second gear without some maneuvering. Any suggestions!

Does it grind when you try and put it in? So you completely ditched your old transmission and are working with a junkyard transmission now just swapped out the case?

It does not grind. I have the tranny out of the car. I have not put any fluid in it as of yet. I was just moving the gears to see if they work or not. I still have to old tranny, I just swapped out the top casing. I could not find a replacement for the second gear that was chewed up. It chewed up gears on the main and counter shaft.

I don't want to put it in and then have to pull it out again.
