Default Gotta buy some new struts, but what else

So I gotta put new struts more than likely all the way around on my accord; got clunking over any kind of bump and it is the struts causing it. If i go on rockauto and order some KYB front and rear struts and reuse the old springs, what else would I need to order to do this job (besides renting a spring compressor). Car has got around 160k on it.

Replacing the anti-sway bar (horizontal stablizer) bushings may cure more clunks than shocks. I've got original shocks on my 94EX, but have replaced anti-sway bar bushings at least twice. They cause lot's of clunking and popping noises.

good luck

well I know on my protege5 i had some clunking and was able to diognose that it was my swaybar end links and not struts. My friend who used to work on civics all the time determined that it was the struts gone bad on the accord but I am having my doubts because of my proteges end link experience.

How could I determine if it is definitely the strut or something else? Ill get under the car later on and check to see how the bushings and end links look later on today, but just a visual inspection.

My experience is you can visually spot worn end bushings on anti-way bar.

Diagnosing worn shocks is more difficult. Sometimes you can see a leaking shock and detect bouncing that is clearly not being damped at all.

Other than above, there is no objective way I know to determine whether a shock is good, average, or bad.

I replaced shocks on a 90EX expecting a noticeable improvement and could detect none. Car rode OK, but not new car firm.

good luck
