Hello guys, let me run you down this story, I just bought a 1991 Honda Accord an pulled the motor. I noticed the motor has been swapped, it has a H2U5 transmission an a F22A6, I also noticed the 1991 has that power steering sensor assembly witch connects from the transmission to some power steering hoses on the frame. I don’t think the h2u5 has that, but someone swapped one on idk I’m confused cause it in the transmission but the mounting bracket doesn’t Aline, who ever did this is a jack ***, any help figuring out what is oem for the transmission speed sensor/
power steering would be greatly appreciated
I'm confused on what is going on. Part of it is that I'm not quick on matching H2U5 to the actual donor vehicle.
You bought a 1991 accord. For the original setup, was it an DX, LX, or EX? Automatic or manual trans?
When you pulled the motor and transmission, can you post the donor vehicle for the transmission and engine? Are you just doing some maintenance and reinstalling them?
Power steering is regulated by the vehicle speed. You need more help from the hydraulic pressure at low speeds, but don't need much (if any) at higher speeds). The power steering speed sensor is part of that pressure regulation. Once we get some information on the donor vehicle for the engine and transmission, we may be able to figure out what you need to get it setup.
1991 Honda Accord body, probably ex, 1993 f22a6 an a 1992 h2u5 transmission, yes the trans is manual, not much more to know about it, I just don’t know what is stock with what, I don’t believe it’s the original transmission to the motor, an I suspect someone took the sensor from the 1993 trans whatever that was, an then put it on my h2u5 transmission, h2u5 transmission with a f22a6 motor, I just need the stock speed/ power steering sensor assembly for the H2U5.
Doing some basic searching, the 90 accord shop manual says that the H2U5 is the manual transmission for the 2.2L fuel injected accord. This could be the original transmission.
I don't think the differences between the 90-93 accords are significant, so everything should work.
If you go to hondapartsonline.net and find the OEM part number for your engine. Click on the part number, the scroll down to vehicle fitment, you'll find a list of cars that use the same OEM part number. Knowing the donor vehicle can help with figuring out what was used. It is possble the part in the picture should fit and is just not installed properly.
I also see something in the background that has an electrical connector, but nothing plugged into it. Was wondering if there is an electrical connector in that area that doesn't have a home?
The other thing you can do is find a u-pull-it junkyard and look for 90-93 accords to look at the setup on them and maybe find the right part?
