If you can get to all the bolts that connect intake manifold to cylinder head (including those below the runners!), then you should be able to do as you describe.

Also, there is a brace between intake manifold and engine block that must be released from intake manifold. It will only be accessible from underneath w/ extensions. Car must be elevated on jack stands or ramps to access this bolt.
