Default Heater climate control unit

2000 Accord EX (4 banger). Need a new Heater/Climate Control unit. Any recommendation as to web sites, retailer or vendors would be appreciated. (Want to avoid the Stealerships.) Also, is this a DIY replacement?

Check ebay and car-part.com for used parts. I've used both w/ good success. car-part requires calling the yard to verify they have part, price, and they will ship. Ebay is much simpler and you retain some return rights that are not a sure thing at a salvage yard.

good luck

So I found a used Heater control unit from a 98 Accord. Installation was easy, but now I have a new issue. I have no dash lights since installing the unit. Checked the fuse and that was not the issue. (Fuse is for the display and reverse lights which work just fine.) Any thoughts as to why the unit from the 98 accord would case the dash lights to not illuminate?

You need to be more specifice than "dash lights". Do you mean simply the dash illumination lights, parking, tailights, or Check Engine Light, Oil Pressure light, tachometer, fuel gauge, etc?

good luck

the lights for the speedometer and the heater control unit itself. All other lights are working.

In earlier (1994-1997) models gauge lights, AT gear postion console light, hazard warning switch light, cigarette lighter light, moonroof switch light, cruise main switch light, and heater control panel lights were all on same circuit. Are any of these other items working?

Suggest checking fuses again to confirm, but possible source of problem is the dash lights brightness control. It is either defective or turned off.

good luck

All the items you mention are working. Also checked the brightness control and it is turned all the way to the right. The lights for the speedometer were all working prior to installing the new unit. It is a unit for a 1998 and I have a 2000. I had to use the clock from my old unit. When I tried using the clock from the 1998 unit the flasher button would not activate the 4 way flashers.
