hey guys.. i have a 97 accord ex 2.2 with a f22b1. the first problem is it starts very akward. I've noticed other people with the same problem but not to the severity of mine.. when i turn the key it turns but doesn't start, i give it a little gas and then it'll start but only sometimes.. and when it doesnt start it drains the battery after several trys. and even when i jump it it doesnt seem to want to start.(which leaves me to believe its not the battery) ok on to problem number 2. i've changed the thermostat and radiator and my car still overheats. the fans turn on and everything.. and the temp on the gauge inside flucuates meaning it'll get very hot when i come to a stop and then it'll go down when i pull off but then go back up.. PLEASE HELP!!! any suggestions are well appreciated.
Is the radiator full of coolant? Also, did you bleed all of the air out of the system when you filled it.
There is a bleeder valve on top of the thermostat housing that takes a 12mm or 10mm deep socket. Loosen the valve. Fill up radiator until all the air stops spitting out and you have a steady stream of coolant. Close valve and top off the radiator.
As for the starting problem, describe in more detail. Does the starter turn the engine at a fast enough speed? You may want to get the battery tested.
