Default Help asap

First off, I have a 1993 Honda Accord EX 4d Auto Transmission.
The other day I went to start it up and it started making this
terrible grinding/crunching noise under the hood.
I was over at a friends so I had to drive it home obviously.
I got there (it was about a 15 minute drive) and somehow
as soon as I pulled up to the curb of my house, it overheated
and died. So lucky!
So basically, it's making noises, its overheating, and it's smoking
a little (not much, but you can see it when you lift the hood.)

I'm a TOTAL n00b at anything to do with cars, so I have no idea
what this could be.

Anyone got any ideas or suggestions?
Also, I have no money. Can't even take it in to get it looked
at right now.

Thanks!

Well can you OPEN THE HOOD? Check The Coolant level in the radiator? Look around under the car for any leakages?
See if there are coolant drops at the bottom of the Timing belt cover.
