Default Help With brakes

hey i have a 94 accord lx, 4dr auto, and just the other day i was driving home and i went to apply the brakes and there was nothing there besides floor board, long story short, im not leaking fluid and all the pads are good. I pulled off the vaccum hose and am getting very good suction. What could be wrong? im kinda thinkin master cylinder but then it only happens sometimes, and other times theyll work great.

Replace or rebuild the master cylinder. Read DIY thread to install.

Air = soft at first but pumps up hard.

Bad MC = hard at first but sinks smoothly to floor. Often good. Worse with high temperatures.

Which describes it best?
It IS possible to have both problems.
