HELP EGR Valve System
I wrote before regarding a EGR problem with my 1999 Honda Accord, EX V6, Fuel-Injection. I really need your help again. The car has the PGM-FI light lights up with a DTC 12. I understand this code refer to a EGR problem. Recently, I changed the EGR valve and its lift sensor (they come together in one piece).
After I installed the new EGR valve and start the car again, the light was gone. I thought I fixed the problem. However, when I took the car out for a test drive, the light came up again after several minutes of driving. Now, the EGR problem still exists. What else should I do diagnose which part of the EGR system is having problem? How many components are involved in the EGR system for this car? If possible, would you please send me a complete instruction on how to check each components in order to find out the problem?

RE: HELP EGR Valve System
how many miles on your car ?? honda was helping people with this issue till 80k ............
there is a egr flow kit that honda sells ,, you need to remove the intake manifold, drill the egr passage bigger and install this tube provided in the kit,, it might be somethig that you might want the dealer or a shop that specializes on hondas do..
if you do not want to install the kit,,,,,,,,just remove the manifold and clean the passage , use a sharp object , carb cleaner to brake all the carbon and compressed air to blow it all out ,,

RE: HELP EGR Valve System
did you remove the intake manifold and clean out the passage ??? if not it is not properly cleaned , carbon cleaner alone will not do a good job...........the cabon in the intake passage might be so bad you got to brake it up with a sharp object , ( it has been thst way on the ones i have done ).......
Once cleaned properly, reset the ecu and drive it,lite should not come back on
