Smile Helpful tips for better care of a 2002 Honda Accord LX

Hey everyone, I'm a new member and wanted to ask if anyone could help me with some advice or tips to take better care of my Accord LX. Things like what parts to buy or any modifications to help it run better and last longer. Its currently going through some transmission issues so any advice for that would be helpful as well.

Moved your post for more help.

Describe your problem in detail. Is Check Engine Light on? Do you have the fault codes?

W/ transmission problems, the first action, if not recently done, is to drain trans fluid and replace w/ Honda ATF. This has a beneficial effect in many cases.

good luck

I don't know how to make it run better, but my own maintenance schedule calls for servicing engine oil
at 50% of recommended mileage, drain and fill of AT fluid every spring,
rad coolant / brake fluid / power steering fluid whenever I think of them (hey, I'm not perfect).

Hope this helps, or is amusing at least.

My transmission issues are when i shift gears, if i shift from park into reverse or drive. I have to wait for a bump, also if i brake suddenly i hear something like a pop and again when the car begins moving.
