Default Higher Idling RPM

1994 Honda Accord EX , manual transmission, 189000 miles.

I was out of country and hence the car was not used at all for one month. I just noticed that when I start the car these days, the idling RPM in neutral gear is about 1700. I think it used to be close to 800-900 RPM before. Weird thing is after about 20 mins of driving, the idling RPM goes down to 800 RPM. Is this normal or is there any impending issue that I should be expecting?

I am really sorry for posting so many problems, one after the other... but just cant list them all together !

Thanks a lot for ur help!

yeah, if it is colder outside ( like in the 30's or 40's or below) the car is going to go into the high idle routine to help warm the car up....idle will slowly drop as the car warms up

I live in South Carolina, which is not so cold... at least not right now. But the logic of routine of warming up seems perfect explanation. Thanks for the reply.
