Default Hit a pothole today

I hit a huge pothole today with my brand new accord. Car only has a couple hundred miles on it. When i went to look at tire i noticed a mark on the rim. Not sure if it was caused by the pothole. Is it possible that this could be just a blemish on the rim from the factory. Didn't inspect rims that closely when i took delivery on the car. I attached some pics

Looks like a rim strike on the edge of the pot hole to me. Unfortunately, these rims are powder coated, which means you'd have to have the rim stripped and re-coated. If it's really a new car, you might talk to someone at the dealer about getting a replacement matching rim. It might be cheaper to go that way versus refinishing that rim. Then use that one as a full size spare. Just a thought.

Thanks. Im curious to know if the 3-1 warranty package that i purchased which cover Windshield chips, Small dents and Wheel damage will cover this. I doesnt cover curbing which this isnt. It might only cover a repair when the rim is damaged to the point where the cars drive is affected. My car drives ok GOnna have to check Monday

Photo doesn't show whether the lip of the rim is bent at all. If not, that's either just a blemish or small scrape that is just cosmetic. If it broke through the clear-coat, you might get that touched up just for sake of corrosion.

Bigger concern is whether the sidewall of the tire was damaged. Keep watching whether the tire balloons out at that location.
