Default Honda accord 94 overheat

Hi guys, the coolant was boiled, and pushed out at the coolant reservoir. The engine light came on after it overheated. I took it to the advanced auto part and they said it was the thermostat. So i bought a new thermostat and replaced it, and things doesn't change. Here is the thing, when ever i turn on the AC/ the engine will get overheated shortly after. I was thinking, it might be the water pump, or even the belt that drives it. By the way the coolant level is at its max. I haven't check if there is a clogged or a collapsing holes. I really need your advices and feed back. Thank You

When the engine is cold, remove the radiator cap and see if the actual radiator is filled with coolant. Add a 50/50 mix of coolant to top off the radiator.

Do both fans turn on when you turn the a/c?

Other than when the AC is on does it overheat? Do the fans work? With the AC on both fans should be running also a fan should come on by temp. does it? Did you check the code from the Check engine light. I had a hose fail that sprayed coolant on the sensor on the back of the cylinder that gives the computer the temp readings and the light came on.

Coolant coming out of the overflow seems to be it got really hot or the head gasket blew.

Since your check engine light came on, I would check for error codes. Use a piece of wire or a thin paperclip to short the 2-pin connector. Let us know what code you got.

See the link below for a good set of instructions.

there are 4 reasons that will cause a car to overheat

1. bad t-stat
2. head gasket breach allowing exhaust into cooland
3. blockage in rad (not likely unless you use a leak sealer)
4. poor airflow (fans not working or rad covered in crap)

the other 2 reasona would be a failed rad cap but coolant would bubble out of the overflow tank before the car would overheat or keeping the car under a heavy load for a prolonged time (ie climbing a steep grade with a trailer in the wrong gear)
