Honda accord problem. help?

Default Honda accord problem. help?

Hi i have a 1995 honda accord ex 2.2 i got it like 3 months ago and its a 5 speed when ever i hit 3500 Rpms it stops and acts like it hits a rev limiter in ever gear it does that it has did that ever since i got it im not sure why the only thing i can think of, is someone put a auto ecu in it, would that be a problem? or if you think its something diffrent let me know thanks

Is Check Engine Light (CEL) on? If yes, I believe your car may be OBD2 compliant and you can extract codes w/ a scanner (autozone, et al). If not, see DIY section for guidance on manually extractiing CEL codes.

A stock 95 is OBD-I......connector under the glove box.....no port behind the ash try.

I would think that an auto ECU in a manual trans car would be an issue because the ECU is looking for the extra sensors that the auto trans would have. I would put an ecu from a manual trans back into the car and see if this corrects the issue. My thinking on this is if you pull the codes, they may be false codes since the incorrect ECU is installed.
