Default Hondabond vs oil pan gasket

On my 2014 Accord I see aftermarket has an oil pan gasket. Is there a downside to not using Hondabond. With, never using a gasket maker like Hondabond I picture it being messy and get in places I don't want it in.

Just make sure the old sealant is clean, so the gasket has an even surface to seat. Also, place the oil pan on a flat surface to make sure the oil pan lip is flat where the engine block is flat. It is possible to bend/warp that oil pan when removing and a bend/twist in the oil pan could cause a leak as the gasket won't seal in that area..
