How to change the gear shift panel light bulb? 2010 Accord
Does anyone have any instructions on how to change the light bulb near the automatic transmission shift ****? The one that tells me which gear I am in?
I have a 2010 Accord.
Thanks.

You have to remove the center console. You may be able to access the bulb without removing anything else.
The instructions are for removing the entire shifting mechanism, so you might need a plastic pry bar or a screw driver wrapped in tape to pop out the button you push to select gears. Then pop off the cover that shows the gear you are in to access the bulb.

Unfortunately, there are no visible screws or tabs to remove the center console. All the exploded views I have seen online are for Accords older than mine (maybe in the 2006 vintage). Since mine is a 2010, the console is made a little differently, which is why I asked for some help.
Can anyone else give me more detailed instructions? Or, even an exploded view of the center console?
Thanks.

You can purchase an 08-10 shop manual from automanualsource.com as a pdf for $22 and is definitely worth the investment.
The panel that has the cup holder snaps in place. The manual says to open the pocket in front of the shifter, then gently pull up on the lid to remove. Then the whole piece can be pried off.
Here is a video showing someone removing that part without removing that lid. Hopefully this helps.

This video definitely helps me remove the top lid to the console. The problem I am having now is accessing the light bulb that lights up the shifter indicator. My hands are pretty big and there is no easy way to remove the socket and wire to remove the bulb.
I was wondering if there was a way to remove the "hump" at the base of the AT shifter, so I can see what I am doing. If I could see how the light socket is positioned, I might be able to access it and remove the bulb.
There are videos on the 7th gen and 9th gen Accords but not the 8th generation Accord.
Any suggestions on this one?
Thanks for all your help.
