Default How do I use jack stands if the floor jack is in the way of jack point?

1990 Honda Accord DX 2.2L MT

I have been wondering where underneath my car I can jack up my car with a floor jack so that it is not in the way of the jack points so I can put a jack stand there. In other words, how can I use a jack stand on the jack points when the floor jack is in the way?

I have used what looks like an inner frame that's on the outside of the brake and gas lines, but I noticed the metal got bent...doh!

jack it up from under the front of the vehicle at some point on the engine cradle, as close to as center as you can, place your stands and release the jack.

Not sure about 1990, but later Accords have a front-center jack point, on a beam underneath the radiator. Usually there's an arrow molded into the plastic shroud underneath, pointing to the place.

Honda "traditionally" uses the tie-down loop in the rear-center as another jacking point.

Your jack goes to the front center of the car....be sure the e-brake and something else (brick, block of wood, ect) is placed behind the rear tires before lifting the car.

Then place the jack stands to the sides.
