Default How to Locate exhaust leak?

Have a difficult exhaust leak '87 carb'd accord.

How about adding a small amount of 2 cycle oil into the carb while runnng and partially covering the tail pipe to force the smoke out the leak?

Other spray available?

actually if you get a friend to plug up the mufflet tail pipe while car is running, you should have no problem locating the leak,, you will hear the noise .........that's what i have always done and always found the leak

Same here. Wad up an old rag & press it over the tailpipe. The leak will get louder & then it's easier to find it. I've never had to resort to putting oil in the engine.

Thanks guys!

Looks like its coming from inside the S/S flex weave where the solid exhaust enters, (a couple of feet ahead of the cat).
