Default How to make headlights shut off automatically

This feature seems missing on my 2012 Accord SE. If I leave the headlights on, the car beeps repeatedly when I park & open the door. I assume ignoring this beep will leave the battery dead...

This is dissapointing as I have much older cars with an auto headlight on/off feature. As best as I can tell my 2012 SE does not have this feature.

So is it possible to disable the chime warning and wire in an automatic on/off?

I want to just leave the headlights on & 30 seconds after I shut off the car have them automatically turn off. And when I start the car I want them to turn on again.

Better yet only have them turn on/off as above when its dark.

LOL maybe if Honda had an app store for the computer in their cars...

I moved your thread here, please do not post help questions in the DIY section, per the forum rules.

8th generation Accords (2008-2012) does have automatic lighting off feature.

The chime will still sound, but the lights will go out.

Yeah, the manual is confusing - I got the impression I needed the "AUTO" option - which it doesn't have. Is there any other reason for that beep? Can that be beep disabled?
