How to Remove Oil Pressure Switch
#11
Update:
Okay. So i went to the local parts store and bought a specialty socket to remove the oil pressure switch. Long story short, none of the stores sell a specialty socket that actually fits my switch. They were all to big. So I found a regular socket that happened to fit and it came right off.
Now to my question:
When I tried to reconnect the cable to the sensor, it won't stay on. It slips on then just slides right back off.
Is there something wrong with the connector or do I just need to push it on harder?
Or, can I just get a new wire and connection from the parts store?
Has anyone else had this problem?

Okay. I tried to reconnect the cable to the old oil pressure switch but I have the same problem as when I try to connect it to the new one. It just slides right back off.
I've removed all of the Rubber coating that was left on the cable, thinking that was hindering things.
I might just stop by the Honda parts center at my local dealer and see what they say.

Yes. I was doing all of this when it was dark. I was thinking that there was some complex splicing going on it was literally just a single spliced female connection.
So the next day in the day light, when I went out and saw that it was just a simple job of crimping the old connection around the new switch.
The original reason that I didn't know was that there was a plastic casing around the connection. But once I removed that I saw what needed to be done.
So all is good and it is finished. I had to wrap it in electrical tape. I hope that will be sufficient.
