Default how to replace the key lock cylinder

The car would occasionally not start but I noticed that every now and then that once I remove the key that the spring inside the key mechanism would not eject it and also the key is somewhat loose when I jiggle it.

Would this be the key lock cylinder going bad?

I also have checked with the dealer (online and locally) and they said that the key lock cylinder for my 5 spd car is now discontinued so I had to search and found one from a junk yard with 175K miles on it with a key. BTW, mine is 256K miles.

Can someone tell me how hard it is to replace this?

I appreciate all the input. Thank you.

The procedure to replace the lock cylinder is pretty much the same as replacing the electrical portion of the ignition switch.
