HUge rock ripped hole oil pan
so today while driving to work following a pickup a huge rock appeared soon as pickup passed and had no time to swerve out the way wanted to know well im assuming the oil pan got torn a hole but not sure is there anything else that would be leeking that much oil and its motor oil it aint red
Oil pan is the obvious target, being down on the bottom of the engine. You gotta look at it. A hit like that will leave a mark so there should be no doubt about what needs to be replaced.
I assume engine oil is going low because of it all leaking out?
ATF is reddish, but not real strong bright red.
Anti-freeze smells so much different than oil so you'd know that.
Power steering fluid is up there too, there'sa cooler that looks like a loop of tube in front of the radiator.
AC refrigerant is under pressure & it leaks out like a cloud of vapor.

My friend cracked open his A4 oil pan and I welded it for him. It's made out of aluminum so you'll have to find someone who can weld that, it might be cheaper than replacing the pan, not sure.
