Thumbs up HVAC 2007 Honda Accord Sedan

I have read hours of posts but nothing specific to 2007 Accord only.

Here is the situation: My wife was driving the car and a small puff of smoke came out of the center console drivers side vent. Electrical smell when I arrived to save the damsel in distress (she likes it when I do that). Since then I get only cold AC out of the passenger side. None on the drivers side. I have had the system recharged and repaired at their suggestion (huge waste of money) because it did not fix the problem.

What are the options?

1. What are the buttons to push on the console to run the AC diagnostic (only for 2007 Accord see attached image of console). I tired the following (1)"Auto button hold", and then the "OFF" button five times. The console goes whacky, and there is one small mark (bottom right in the 88 - I think is is the "i" code). Not sure if this is correct or what the code means.

2. Is that the correct sequence for the diagnosis?

3. Where is the information on what the codes mean? (I think this one is "i")

Look forward to any replies regarding 2007 Honda Accord only.

Thanks a bunch

Turn ignition switch off and then to ON position. Set fan speed to OFF, set temp control to MAX COOL and set the vent to the DASH Vent.

Turn ignition switch off and then to ON position. Press and hold the air recirculating button and press the rear defogger button FIVE time within 10 SECONDS. Release the recirculating button and defogger button and self diagnostics should begin. When diagnostics is complete if there is a DTC the recirculation button light will blink so count the blinks I.e. 3 blinks followed by a pause and 3 more blinks would indicate code 3.

That should be your self diagnostics sequence.
