Default I am about to replace my A/C condenser, need help!

Hi everyone,

My wife has an 05 Accord 2.4 and A/C stopped working. We took the car to 2 different dealers and the issue was the same "a rock hit your condenser, $700". After researching for days and days, I have found that this is a very common problem in late Honda models. I am not gonna discuss if this is a design failure or if Honda should cover it, cause I have read enough about it[:@].
All I want is a DIY to replace my condenser with a new one and start summer with A/C working.
What other parts do I need to get?
Do I need to remove the bumper, radiator?
Should I recharge A/C myself buying A/C charge kit?

I am getting a knee surgery this tuesday and I need to get this done before its crutches time!!!
Thanks in advance for your help!

I wish I could help you.
I believe it requires special tools to discharge the old system. But I am not positive. You may be able to discharge without any special tools but I have no idea how and Ido not know the dangers of doing this. If I ever have to replace any A/C components I have a mechanic that has been serving my family for years and he always does the work for me for dirt cheap.
Hopefully one of our members with A/C knowlege can help you out.
Good luck with your surgery! My father-in-law is having both ofhisknees "replaced" this summer.
