I wish my RN skills carried over to cars! HELP
Privately purchasing 2009 Accord. I ordered car fax and all good. Test drive was perfect. Buying from mechanic I don't know. Before I receive car I asked him to raise car up to original height ( he had used a cam kit to lower a few inches) he was working on the last one in rear when he said he couldn't believe it but spindle totally broke while he was attempting ( something). He was pissed. I watched him call eBay for part for $212.00 along with his credit card. Does this all sound plausible? Thank you.

While I cannot offer any advice on your current situation...
Were I in your shoes I'd make "a note to self", in the future, never buy a car with obvious mods such as being lowered or changes to the intake, exhaust, or engine electronics. It is almost always better/cheaper (especially in the long run) to buy an unmodified car.

Without knowing exactly what broke, it's difficult to say anything that isn't real vague or guesswork.
The spindle breaking doesn't completely make sense. The rear wheel bearing is a hub cartridge & doesn't have a separate "spindle" like older Accords. And I don't think a hub cartridge cost that much.
So let's say he broke one of the studs on the suspension knuckle, that are used to attach the suspension links. A new knuckle could be about that price; and breaking one of those studs would surely **** me off if it happened when I was about to sell the car.

Welcome to the Accord forum.
I'd say you happened upon an honest enough mechanic.
Cr*p does happen and this guy knows he had to fix it for the buyer, who was standing right there.
Actually, don't understand why you want our opinions at this point ...
