If the timing belt is already broken!!
Finally got the timing belts off and replaced. A note if you would like to add to the 92 timing belt replacement post, when installing the 6 mm bolt ( I used a 5.92mm drill bit, which is about 5 inches long) in the rear of the engine to stop the rear balance shaft from rotating, there was approximately 3/4" of the drill bit out side of the engine, when the tdc is correct.
I have a couple of questions. I rotated the crank pulley 3 teeth and tightened the belt tensioner. The front side of the timing belt was pretty tight. The rear side had about 1/4" in when I pushed on the belt between the camshaft pulley and the idler pulley. Is that good?
The second question is the bottom timing cover seems to have lost the gasket material to keep dirt and junk out of it. The local Oreilly's doesn't have a source for the gasket set. Do you have any ideas as to where to get these. Again this is a 94 accord lx
Thanks again to all for your help on this.

According to what the previous threads have explained it doesn't look like it has skipped at all. Both belts looked pretty good actually. Being a former power transmission guy(motion industries, bearing distributors, etc.) and seeing timing and ptd belts that are trashed they look really great. But they do have 90K plus on them so why take the chance. Once I get this back together then I can actually start to diagnose the problem again. It was my daughters car and she was driving at slow speed, actually at a stop sign and was ready to pull away and it died. Wouldn't restart. Of course being 3 hours away and the mechanic she took it to assumed as I did that it was the timing belt. We had just put the new a/c compressor in it for 800 dollars so my budget was not in good shape and he wanted 500 to replace the belt (not knowing it wasn't broken). So I just brought it home. This is the first I have had a chance to work on it. I want to get it running as I think it would be a great car for a teenager to start with and it's just sitting in my garage.
