Default Ignition key died!!!

I have a 2003 Honda Accord EX with 178K. This is my first problem!! The key will no longer lock, unlock, open trunk or sound panic. I have noticed it getting weaker over the last month. Almost like the battery dying. I see it has a 3v battery in it. I have another identical key that came with the car and another that will just open with key to lock. Is there anyway to fix the original key? I would still like a fully functional backup. Thanks in advance for your help.

Owners manual? Well I did so after your suggestion. Sure enough you can change the battery!!! Only in the EX. Takes a CR1616 battery. Hopefully Walmart has one. Thank you!!!
